📝 Local Weight Management Update July 2025

There has been ongoing confusion around available weight management services and the prescribing of Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) in Wakefield and Pontefract. With support from James Brownjohn (MYHT), we’ve prepared a summary to clarify the current position.

Local referral pathways by BMI and clinical criteria
Eligibility for services such as Aspire, Oviva, and specialist bariatric support
The current RED drug status of Tirzepatide for weight management
Which services are open for referral and how to access them

A new West Yorkshire commissioning policy is expected by the end of July. We will provide updates once this is finalised.
